Last Friday night we left for Mexico, Tijuana to be exact to visit my husbands family. His cousin was having a quince which is basically our version of the sweet 16, but they celebrate at 15. It is just like a wedding, its a huge deal down there. Anyways the drive was fine the kids did pretty good. Once we got there it was a bit awkward I must say. It is very cramped and cluttered there people just live totally different. We went there about 4 years ago, but just for the day while we were visiting in San Diego. The houses are very tiny so all four of us were in a room with alot of clutter for 3 days!!the houses are made of basically concrete and plywood they are not like our houses at all.People just throw garbage eveywhere it just looks really really run down. I found it a bit challeneging to have the kids there. For me I see it as really unsafe..there are medicines lying around in childrens reach, drop offs of hills everywhere, there is just plain and simply alot of things that kids can get hurt with childproofing really doesent exist there which was hard because I felt I could not really relax because i watched my kids every move. My husbands family are so very sweet though, and they tried their best to make me feel comfotable. It is really hard though I just felt overwhelemed by it all. One thing I admire about down there is they hold family really dear. They spend alot of time with eachother and basically just have a super strong family value. I feel like here in the states family is not nearly as tight are loyal as they are there. My husbands family would do anything for eachother i cant say that about all my family here. I am really blessed to be married into a family that is so caring my inlaws are just the best so with the downside of things def comes a large upside. They are such hard workers too they do not have alot so they appreciate everything they have not like us spoiled americans! I did speak alot more spanish than I though I would, but only in small groups when alot of people were around I kinda clamed up and got a bit intimidated..lol. We went to Rosarito Beach..and of course I had to go to Papas N Beer!!! OMG I was in heaven..the kids loved the beach and they just played in the sand for hours. We did have a good time its just a whole dif world there and I takes a bit getting used too. Best discribed I guess as it seems they have no rules or boundaries kids and cars run wild!!! Just not used to that i am very structured, clasterphobic, and I dont like messy places..so yeah kinda weird fit. It was a good time, but I am glad to be home. We will visit again I I think once the little ones are a bit bigger it will be alot easier, especially Domonic. they probally thought I was crazy for floowoing them around making sure they dont hurt themselves!!
BTW Stormie stayed behind with her grandma she said Mexico wasen't safe so she diden't wanna go...lol
